メ (me) – Katakana
– Pronounced as the Japanese ‘me’. Sounds similar to the English ‘me’ as in ‘mess’.
め, in hiragana, or メ in katakana, is one of the Japanese kana, each of which represents one mora. Both versions are written in two strokes.
Mnemonic 1: This sword is sticking out of the ground, its former owner unknown, during the aftermath of a great battle. A ‘mess’ has been left on the battlefield, and there are lots of swords sticking out of the ground just like this one.
Mnemonic 2: On the side of the bottle of milk, a green tick is marked next to the words “suitable for drinking”. However, on the bottle of methylated spirit, there is a big red cross, like this.
