– Pronounced as the Japanese ‘tsu’. You can pronounce this by saying the first portion – ‘tsu’ from ‘tsunami’.

つ, in hiragana, or ツ in katakana, is one of the Japanese kana, each of which represents one mora. Both represent ‘tu’ in the Japanese alphabet although for phonological reasons, the actual pronunciation is tsu.
Mnemonics
Mnemonic 1: As this giant wave breaks, it produces two drops of foam. This is different to the wave produced in the katakana ‘so’, which was ‘soft’ and only had one drop.
