か (ka) – Hiragana
– Pronounced as the Japanese ‘ka’. Sounds closest to an English ‘ca’ as in ‘car’.
か, in hiragana, or カ in katakana, is one of the Japanese kana, which each represent one mora. The shapes of these kana both originate from 加.
Mnemonic 1: The character used to be a greedy man, but ‘karma’ (ka), got the better of him, and his body became twisted and his hair fell off towards the right side of him.
Mnemonic 2: A ‘camel’ climbs up the side of a volcano, and – whoops! – falls into the crater.
